50+ days to O Level

It has been quite a while since I blogged.. I think?

Not long ago, we had a rather long holiday - weekends followed by a two-day break due to off-in-lieu for Presidential Election & Hari Raya Haji. School resumed yesterday, and today is a half-day. Tomorrow will be Teachers' Day holiday, followed by weekends and September holidays.

Well, so there isn't much schooling these days. Don't know if it's supposed to be good or bad..

The Teachers' Day cum Hari Raya Concert today wasn't really enjoyable. Some parts of it were, but the rest weren't quite engaging. I didn't really understand the skit & some performances. I felt that some of it was quite irrelevant to whatever was performed previously.. No coherence. Haha. Generally, I felt like it was more like a Hari Raya celebration rather than a Teachers' Day Concert because more time was dedicated to the Hari Raya celebration. As I happened to sit at the back, I was rather alone so I actually watched the concert throughout without talking much. I could observe that there wasn't much rehearsing by the performers as seen by their unfamiliarity with their lines & timing. Overall, I think it was quite a good effort put in by the Organising Committee but I did expect more to be honest. I seem like I'm criticising them.. lol, okay, moving on..

Wondering what I gave Mrs Chua & Mdm Nisa for Teachers' Day?
Well, I bought each of them a mug, together with Hershey's Kisses, Post-It note, and a pen. For each individual subject teacher, they were each given 2 bars of Hershey chocolates. All the shopping and wrapping of the gifts were done by Amanda and I. I admit that all these was quite last-minute and I only have myself to blame (as I totally forgot about it). Thankfully, Pan Zi remembered to do a card for the teachers. Even though it was really plain and simple and probably unsincere, I'm glad that he remembered and took some effort (although it was only 5 minutes). The card was 'saved' with the help of Jan and Bridget. I really must thank the both of them, if not for them, I really wouldn't know what to do. I also must express my gratitude to some people, including Jin An, Jasmine, Danial, Karen, Val (Y) & probably a few others, who helped me to present the gifts to the subject teachers :)

There is definitely a purpose for me to underline & bold these names. First, it's obviously to express gratitude to them. Secondly, it's because I want to express my dissent to some people who refuse to cooperate or participate. If you know who/what I mean, good for you; if you don't, it's really okay. I feel that i'm always the one at the losing end sometimes. Or probably i'm just being selfish or think too highly of myself. Sometimes, I just feel that i'm the only one contributing, the only who is participating. I know it's a crappy job, but c'mon, you were selected to do it. As much as you may dislike doing it, others probably won't enjoy it too. But could you spare a thought for others or something? I'm really frustrated by your lack of cooperation and team effort. Or maybe, I really suck as a leader. I can't influence others to do what I think we should; I can't prioritise well; I am not firm enough. The problem could lie in me. Whatever it is, I seriously hope that you can be more cooperative when it comes to working as a team.

Okay I shall not brood anymore over that silly matter.
