Late.

I know, I know, I should be studying and not blogging.

But I just wanna post something which I forgot to write about in my previous post.

Yes, you might have guessed from the title of this post.

So I was LATE for school like some time in early February.. Out of my 11 years of education, I have never been late for school. Only close to being late, but never late. So, what happened that day: -

I still remember it was a Friday. Usually, on most mornings, Mummy will wake me up. But she happened to be overseas during that period of time. So Daddy also overslept.. and my maid.. she actually did not wake me up at all. Infuriating much! It's not like she didn't know that I had school right.. -.- The least she could have done was to wake me up and confirm if I had school or not on that day, rather than just leaving me to sleep all the way until like 7.10 or something like that. Yes, I agree that I should also blame myself for not waking up punctually on my own and sleeping late and blah.. But argh, I just think that part of the blame also goes to her.. :/ Okay, so you might be wondering how the heck I actually woke up right? I really have to THANK AMANDA for that. If not for her, I think I would be like seriously damn late for school that day. Because I was supposed to be at her house (it was the week that her dad was sending us to school), and I wasn't there after like 10 minutes. So she called. And so I woke up to realise that I was seriously late. I asked her to go off without me, then Daddy sent me off to school. Actually, I could have made it to school in time if Daddy hadn't chosen to take a so-called "short cut" which turned out to be longer with all the traffic lights and all. I had advised him not to, but it was too late already. So when I finally reached school (I wasn't too late actually), it was around 7.41am. They were in the midst of singing the National Anthem (or was it saying the Pledge, I can't remb which). After the flag-raising ceremony was over, a discipline comm teacher saw me and approached me.. I thought I was going to be scolded really badly. But it turned out more like a warning, "Why are you late?" "I don't want to see you here again." "Did you take the Pledge with them?", which I said I did. Phew. But I do have a late record now... Sigh, my clean record is now "dirtied". :( But anyway, I'm glad that Amanda managed to get to school in time, otherwise I would feel like damn guilty.. :/ On the same day, it turned out that Ying Jie was also late (at the side gate). Haha. I didn't really feel so "alone" in it after that anymore. LOL :x

A few weeks after that, I was almost late for school again. Yeah, once again, it's the oversleeping issue. What made it worse was that it was a Wednesday. Amanda had other plans, so she made her way to school on her own early. I had planned to wake up early to do some work, which I obviously failed to. So I jumped out of bed at 9 am, grabbed my stuff and ran out the door. Ran to the bus stop - no bus in sight. Out of serious desperation, I hailed a taxi, with no particular cab in mind. So, a Mercedes Comfort Delgro cab (those white ones) slowed down.. I knew it was one of those overcharged taxis so I asked for the price. Flag down fare was $3.90 (above market price by about 70cents). I was quite reluctant, but unwilling to be late for school a 2nd time in the month, I just boarded the taxi and made my way to school. But the driver was really cool because I told him that I was in a rush and he really sped through (the speedometer read 100km/h on the highway). Thanks to him, I made it to school in time within 14 minutes. When I tapped in, the time read 9:14:xx. Although I don't exactly know the cut-off time on Wednesday, I'm really thankful that I made it in school on time.. PHEW. But anyway, in case you're wondering, the cab fare was around $11 plus. :/

Okay, so I shall end my post here after sharing with you my 2 "exhilarating" experiences last month. I hope they'll never happen again!

Bye! :)
